Following his victory, Ben Lake MP said:
“It is an honour to be elected as the Member of Parliament for the new seat of Ceredigion Preseli. During the six-week campaign, many stated that they would be voting for Plaid Cymru for the first time, and I am extremely grateful to everyone who put their faith in me to represent them in Westminster. This result shows that people want a strong, local voice in Westminster who will stand up for their needs and protect their interests.
“Since 2017, I have worked tirelessly for my constituents in Ceredigion and I promise to continue my efforts and strive for a fairer, more prosperous society in Ceredigion Preseli. From Borth to Llanrhian, I have had many interesting conversations and discussions with constituents who have concerns regarding the near and far future. I am determined to continue standing up for rural communities in Westminster and champion our needs here in Ceredigion Preseli – that is my number one priority.”
